๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ Players and Cards
The game accommodates any number of players, as long as there are enough cards. Multiple decks can be used for larger games.
Before creating a Game, you must first create at least two Players.
๐Ÿ” Rounds
A game consists of multiple rounds. Each round, the dealer, trump suit (or no trumps), and number of cards dealt all change. The number of cards starts at a chosen value and decreases each round to one, then increases back to the original number.
A round consists of three phases: bidding, playing, and scoring.
๐Ÿง‘โ€โš–๏ธ Bidding
Starting from the left of the dealer, each player must predict how many tricks they will win based on the cards in their hand. The objective is to achieve the exact number of tricks predicted. Points are awarded for the number of tricks won, plus a bonus for correctly predicting the number of tricks.
๐Ÿƒ Playing
The player to the dealer's left leads the first card, and play follows clockwise. Players must follow the suit led if possible, or they can play any card if they can't follow suit. If a card is played of the trump suit, the highest trump wins; otherwise, the highest card of the suit led wins. The winner of the trick leads the next card. This continues until all cards have been played.
๐Ÿงฎ Scoring
Players score points equivalent to the number of tricks they won during the round. Additionally, a bonus is awarded for correctly predicting the number of tricks won.
๐Ÿฅ‡ Winning
The player with the most points once all rounds have been played wins the game.
๐ŸŽฅ Tutorial
Here's a short video to help you get started. It's the closest I could find to the rules I grew up with, which I've used as the basis for this site, but there are a few subtle differences.
On this site:
  1. The trump suit is determined by a cycle, rather than the top card on the deck.
  2. The starting number of cards is configurable.
  3. The number of cards dealt changes each round.
  4. The points won for a correct prediction is configurable.
